Myers grew up in Secaucus, New Jersey, which is right outside of New York City. Myers went to undergraduate school in New Jersey. She graduated from Richard Stockton State College in New Jersey with a bachelor's degree in Literature.

Myers started teaching in New York state, but she moved to Cincinnati in 1989 and started teaching English in Cincinnati Public Schools. She earned her master's degree in administration from the University of Cincinnati in 1995. Shortly after, in 1999, she took on the role of assistant principal at Western Hills High School. Myers then moved on to the School for Creative and Performing Arts in 2008.

Myers has two children — a daughter is a professional ballet dancer and a son who found his passion for cars and is studying to be an auto mechanic. She enjoys working with the Riverview community and families. She looks forward to another dynamic year at Riverview.
