Riverview East Staff

Parents are an integral component of the schools. Riverview East Academy, as a key element of the No Child Left Behind Act, has a Parent Center that is accessible to all parents. The school has provided a spacious room for parents; it is stocked with coffee, water, juices and other refreshments to help create a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Parent Center is open Monday through Friday and is available for parents to learn about social, recreational and educatonal services available for students and families that are offered in the school and community activities. In addition to making support services easier for parents to access, the focus is to provide parents with the tools needed for them to become better partners in their child's education.

Panera Bakery provides baked good twice monthly in the center for families. PTO meetings, parent conferences, trainings and other meetings are held in the Parent Center. There is a computer with internet and a link (Parent Connect) where parents can view the student's activities, (homework assignments, attendance, progress and grades).

Presentations that are presented to parents are housing, finances, nutrition, a reading program and other related topics. Parents are involved in the Meet and Greet Activity, Open House, Parents for Public Schools and the Ohio Parent Information Center to name a few. Parents also assist with mailings, newsletter, volunteering and lending support where necessary.

At the end of the school year, the parents organize and lan a year-end celebration for students, familise and staff. Our hope is that all parents visit the Parent Center and make an effort to get involved.
