Educational Academy Ohio Standards

The academic curriculum at Riverview East Academy adheres to the standards of education as outlined by the Ohio Department of Education. These standards are English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Foreign Language, Technology, and Library. (http://www.ode.state.oh.us/academic_content_standards/) Riverview East Academy creates an environment in which all members of the school community work to ensure that all students meet or exceed the district’s defined academic standards. To this end, we will continue to develop the necessary academic and social support needed for each student to achieve academic success and become a productive, responsible citizen.

Special Needs Services

At Riverview East Academy we offer a continuum of services for our students with special needs/learning concerns.  We provide an inclusion model that allows all students to participate in general education classes with support from an intervention specialist as well as small group instruction.  
We also offer all students and families the chance to receive services through The Children's Home of Cincinnati.  We have an on-site therapist who works with students, families and teachers during as well as after school hours.  The "Health Team" provides an array of services ranging from individual and family counseling, social skills, coping skills, anger management, drug/alcohol prevention and character development.  The services provided range from prevention to intervention to treatment.

College Preparatory High School
·  2006-07: 9th and 10th grades
·  2007-08: 9th, 10th and 11th grades
·  2008-09: Full high school program
Riverview East Academy will offer students a well-rounded education, which prepares them for life after high school, whether it is advanced training, technology, junior college, or four-year university. We offer classrooms that are technologically advanced. At Riverview East Academy students will be provided with an individual advocate to ensure success during and after high school.
We will offer Junior and Senior year options to earn dual credits from Riverview East Academy and Cincinnati State.
